1. Who can enter

  1. Female Contestants between the ages of 18 and 35 may enter. A contestant must have turned 18 by the date that her entry photo will be taken.
  2. The contestant must be a resident in South Africa, but does not have to be a South African citizen.

2. Entry forms

  1. Contestants may only enter online via the Supermodel SA website.
  2. The contestant will be required to sign a model release form which will be emailed upon registration.
  3. In order to complete the entry the contestant must have a professional profile photo taken with one of the participating photographers.
  4. The required photo must be a 3/4 body (head to middle of upper legs) profile photo in swimwear, portrait orientation and a plain background.
  5. Photos MAY BE RETOUCHED by the photographer.
  6. The photographer will submit the contest photos directly to Supermodel SA.
  7. The organizers will brand this photo with the Contestant’s Name, the Photographer’s details and the Supermodel SA Logo.
  8. Entries closes on the 31st or March.

3. Entry Fee

  1. There is a Once-off entry fee for contestants:
    1. The early Bird Entry Fee is R650 and is valid until 28 February 2023.
    2. The normal entry fee is R800 and must be paid by 31 March 2023.
    3. Late entries will be accepted until 10 April 2023, the late entry fee is R950.
    4. Banking details will be provided via email to the contestant.
    5. This contest is administered by Appify (Pty) Ltd and invoicing will be handled by them on behalf of Supermodel SA.
    6. There are no other fees payable by the contestant apart from any expenses the contestant may incur such as stipulated further in the rules.
  2. Entry fees are not refundable
  3. Participating photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and videographers do not pay any entry fees.

4. Travel costs and other expences

  1. All contestants, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists and videographers are responsible for their own travel costs, meals, and accommodation (should not be applicable).
  2. Participating Photographers may not charge any contestant for any photoshoot directly related to the Supermodel SA contest.
    1.  Participating photographers may not charge a contestant for the retouching or editing of images that will be submitted to the Supermodel SA contest.
    2. Photographers MAY charge the contestant for the retouching or editing of additional images from each photoshoot that will not be submitted to the Supermodel SA contest. 
    3. The recommended fee a photographer may charge a contestant for any additionally released images as mentioned above is R50 per image.
    4. Photographers may elect not to charge for the release of any additional retouched or edited images based on a mutual agreement between the photographer and contestant.
  3. Participating Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists and Videographers may not charge any involved party for their professional services rendered relating to photoshoots done for the Supermodel SA contest.

5. Responsibilities of contestants and professional service providers

  1. Contestants are responsible for the following:
    1. Ensuring that they keep up to date with communication from Supermodel SA and are up to date with important dates such as:
      1. The start date of each Round.
      2. The deadlines for image submissions for each Round.
      3. The start and end dates and times for public voting on each Round.
      4. Be properly prepared for each photoshoot by:
        1. Properly studying and understanding the briefing of each Round’s theme.
        2. Have practised and are comfortable with the poses they would like to present during each photo shoot.
        3. Wear appropriate clothing for the theme of the photoshoot as per the briefing.
        4. Effectively communicating with the Participating Professional Service Providers.
    2. Reaching out to the Photographers and other Participating Professional Service Providers to start planning their photoshoots for each Round.
  2. Participating Photographers are responsible for the following:
    1.  The taking and submitting of 3/4 length swimwear entry photos of the contestants.
    2. The taking and submitting of all other images pertaining to each round of the contest.
    3. Each submission must include a full length, 3/4 length and head and shoulders image of the contestant for each specific round.

6. Usage and rights of images

  1. The photographer maintains the copyright to all photos submitted to Supermodel SA 2023 and the participating model will have no claim to it.
  2. Photographers will automatically grant Supermodel SA 2023 and Event Sponsors the rights to make use of all photos received during the contest for future marketing purposes.

7. Disqualification of contestants & service providers

  1. A contestant will automatically drop out of the contest if any image to be submitted before the deadline of each round is not submitted.
  2. A contestant will be disqualified should the contestant bring any disrepute to Supermodel SA, its registered Service Providers or Sponsors.
  3. Service providers may be blocked from any further participation should the service provider bring any contestant, Supermodel SA or its sponsors into disrepute.

8. General

  1. It is illegal to enter any person without their permission into any contest
  2. The information that a contestant will provide must be true and correct
  3. Contestants need to accept the judges (including the other scorecards) decision as final
